PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary role of the GHG Compliance & Data Analyst is to help assess and manage the data and filings required for the timely and successful generation of Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) RIN credits, Production Tax Credits and Cap and Trade Allowances across Calgren Renewable Fuels’ (Calgren’s) various renewable fuels production affiliates.
Core responsibilities include assisting with the following activities:
- Collect, track, organize and analyze large data sets and documents for both internal and external reporting
- Prepare site-specific carbon intensity calculations and review underlying data for accuracy
- Problem-solve and troubleshoot errors, misreporting, incorrect data, and other issues that arise
- Engage with third-party verification bodies (VBs) to conduct pre-filing validations and annual verifications of the data
- Maintain project-specific instrument lists and calibration records
- Prepare fuel pathway documentation (LCA reports, Tier 2 explanations, GREET background and other supporting documentation, etc.)
- Maintain the highest level of integrity, accuracy, and transparency in GHG credit accounting practices.
Additional responsibilities include the following:
- Data Analysis: The GHG Compliance & Data Analyst is expected to work closely with members of the Calgren team to track important metrics associated with each digester and each renewable fuel project to optimize overall performance. The metrics include renewable fuel production and quality, production inputs, mtCO2e reduced, CI scores, LCFS credits/RINs/Tax Credits generated. The GHG Compliance & Data Analyst will assist in creating/modifying reports to clearly communicate overall performance.
- Other: Calgren is a growing company where roles and responsibilities may evolve over time as needs arise. The GHG Compliance & Data Analyst will be expected to adapt when help is needed in areas which are not described in this job description. As knowledge and interests within the company develop, opportunities to pursue this further will be provided to the extent possible.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent spreadsheet skills. Individuals without strong spreadsheet skills will not be considered.
- Ability to work well with others. Calgren highly values its current team approach to operations and problem-solving. The successful candidate will be an important member of that team. Individuals that are not comfortable working within a team environment should not apply.
- 3-5 years of professional experience related to data analysis and/or regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, business, accounting or related field.
- Knowledge of California and US climate change policy and program development, especially Cap-and-Trade, LCFS, and RFS, will be helpful, but not required.
- Technical experience in the dairy livestock sector is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills and extraordinary attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and interpret technical information for various audiences.
- Enjoy the challenge of exploring new issues and subject areas in ways that can make a positive impact on the environment.
- Proficiency in Windows-based applications (Outlook, Word, and of course Excel).

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
