Role Overview
We’re looking for an outstanding Software Engineering Intern who’s excited to build across the stack — but especially on backend systems and API integration — in a fast-paced, highly creative environment. You’ll work directly with our founding engineering and research leads on key platform infrastructure and product features.
You will work directly with our engineering and research leads to deliver features that blend cutting-edge AI with intuitive user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend Development: Build and refine APIs using NestJS, Node.js, and PostgreSQL
- System Integration: Connect services and optimize backend performance
- Frontend Touchpoints: Light work with UI components in React/Next.js
- Rapid Iteration: Prototype and deploy features based on real user signals
Qualifications
- Current undergrad (or recent graduate) in CS, EE, or related field
- Strong skills in: Node.js and NestJS, PostgreSQL and general backend architecture, API development and third-party integration
- Clear communicator, self-directed, and collaborative
- Must be based in the Bay Area (or willing to move) and able to work from our SF office daily
Bonus Points
- Familiarity with React, Next.js
- Experience working with GCP (not required — pipelines already set up)
- Interest in commerce, AI assistants, or memory-based systems
- Strong design instincts or experience improving UX from the backend
