The Senior Data Engineer – ETL & Data Integration is a senior-level role responsible for the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-grade ETL processes and data pipelines. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making by ensuring efficient movement, transformation, and integration of data across platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL, SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS), or similar ETL tools, and will bring advanced analytical skills to support complex business needs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain robust ETL pipelines using SQL, BODS, and adjacent ETL tools to support enterprise analytics platforms.

Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable data integration solutions.

Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across all ETL processes and data sources.

Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability in cloud and hybrid environments.

Lead the development and implementation of best practices for ETL architecture, data modeling, and data integration.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members and contractors.

Participate in the planning and execution of data platform modernization initiatives, including cloud migration and adoption of new analytics technologies.

Ensure compliance with IT general controls, data privacy regulations, and internal data governance policies.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Contribute to the strategic roadmap for enterprise analytics and data integration.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. knowledge, skills, and abilities)

Expert-level proficiency in SQL and ETL tools such as SAP BODS, Informatica, or Azure Data Factory.

Strong understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and cloud analytics platforms (e.g., SAP Datasphere, Azure Synapse, Snowflake).

Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and deliver actionable insights.

Experience with SAP HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, or similar reporting tools is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and business teams.

Experience in an FDA-regulated or highly governed data environment is preferred.

Project Management and/or Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.

10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or ETL development roles.
-
5+ years of experience in a senior or lead capacity, managing complex data integration projects.
