BIICS, Inc is looking to fill a Data Scientist position. The position is located in Tallahassee, Florida and work is onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Perform epidemiologic data requests.
- Provide epidemiologic and analytic support to develop surveillance data products.
- Conduct biostatistical analyses and system evaluations in collaboration with client staff.
- Provide oral or written summaries of epidemiological analyses to client staff.
- Develop epidemiological research methods to analyze, interpret, and report on data.
- Participate in the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologist’s (CSTE) Surveillance/Informatics Steering Subcommittee and other surveillance focused subcommittees.
- Perform additional assignments as requested.
Potential candidate must possess the following:
- Master's degree in informatics, data science, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or related technical or quantitative field.
- A minimum of three years of experience utilizing data programming and data visualization software, such as R, SAS, SQL, Python, Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Experience in performing analyses, evaluation of systems, projects, and programs.
- A minimum of two years of experience in data collection, data analysis techniques, data management and processing.
- Knowledge of data privacy and data security.
- A minimum of two years of experience in data extraction, manipulation, and transformation.
- Experience in research methodology, data communication and dissemination.
- A minimum of two years of experience developing data systems and data products.
- A minimum of two years of experience in the last five years with the Microsoft Office Suite; including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- A minimum of two years of experience performing data science or informatics data work.
Preferred:
- Advanced skills in Excel and power query preferred.
- Experience working in a specialty area, such as public health or healthcare; and/or working with data visualization software and programming may be desired.
