Andover is one of the largest private owner-operators of self storage facilities in the United States and invests on behalf of high-net-worth individuals and institutional capital partners like TPG Angelo Gordon, Ares, and Blackstone.
Andover’s current self storage portfolio totals over 14 million square feet across 169 properties in 19 states and operates under the Storage King USA brand. Responsibilities
This role will report to Andover’s head of Data & AI and support high-impact analytics initiatives across the firm.
- Data Extraction & Querying:
Write and optimize SQL queries to join data sources and support ad hoc business
analysis.
- Data Cleaning & Validation:
Prepare and clean datasets; perform integrity checks and reconcile discrepancies across systems.
- Excel Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze large datasets using pivot tables, formulas, lookups, and support validation of
capital partner reports.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with accounting, operations, revenue, marketing, and acquisitions to define
analytics needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Develop dashboards in Power BI to present trends, outliers, and actionable insights.
- Documentation & Process Improvement:
Maintain analytics documentation and identify opportunities to streamline workflows
and improve data reliability.
Ideal Skills & Qualifications
Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business,
Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
o Up to 2 years of experience in a data analyst or similar role; internships or
project-based work considered
Technical Skills:
o Proficient in SQL for data extraction, joins, filtering, and aggregation
o Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, charts)
o Experience with Power BI or Tableau for data visualization
o Familiarity with Python (e.g., pandas, numpy, matplotlib, openpyxl) for automation and analysis is a plus
o Comfortable using GenAI tools to enhance productivity
o Strong attention to detail
o Able to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate actionable insights
Soft Skills:
o Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical
concepts and data-driven findings to business stakeholders, and to explain processes, concepts, challenges, and issues to technical resources
o Collaborative across teams such as accounting, asset management, marketing,
revenue, and acquisitions
o Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies
