Senior Data Engineer at Handoff
You will be pivotal in shaping our data landscape. Your expertise will drive the development of scalable data pipelines, robust ETL processes, and efficient data models, ensuring our teams have access to high-quality data for informed decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ensure seamless data flow across systems
- Create and optimize data models and database schemas to support analytics and reporting needs
- Enhance SQL queries and database performance for efficient data retrieval and processing
- Oversee the architecture and management of our data warehouse, ensuring data integrity and accessibility
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and data analysts, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
About You
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- 5+ years in data engineering or architecture roles, preferably within product-centric companies
- Strong experience with Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, Airflow, Airbyte, and Metabase
- Experience developing and deploying data transformations using AWS Athena and Apache Iceberg tables
- Experience using AWS Glue Data Catalog to manage Apache Iceberg tables
- Proven ability in SQL query tuning, data modeling, and database design
- Experience designing and building dashboards
- Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot complex data issues and implement effective solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
