Responsibilities
This role will report to Andover’s head of Data & AI and support high-impact analytics initiatives across the firm.
- Help design and monitor ETL pipelines to move and transform data reliably from operational and financial systems into reporting environments
- Participate in maintaining and optimizing SQL Server databases, including basic performance monitoring, backup validation, and routine maintenance tasks
- Collaborate on integration processes with property management APIs (operational data) and Microsoft Business Central (accounting data), including updating ETLs and functions under guidance
- Contribute to implementing data security best practices, including access controls and data handling procedures
- Continuously look for opportunities to streamline data access and improve performance of reporting systems
- Work closely with internal and external constituents to support ongoing data initiatives and infrastructure improvements
- Support the development of scalable data models and tabular datasets to prepare operational and financial data for reporting and analytics.
Ideal Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Up to 2 years of experience in data engineering or software development
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of SQL and basic understanding of Python or another scripting language
- Familiarity with databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
- Experience with data integration and ETL tools, such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, or Talend
- Basic understanding of data structures, algorithms, and data modeling
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Comfortable using GenAI tools to enhance productivity
Soft Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and data-driven findings to business stakeholders, and to explain processes, concepts, challenges, and issues to technical resources
- Project and time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Collaborative across teams such as accounting, asset management, marketing, revenue, and acquisitions
- Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies
