Overview:
Founded in 1993, Bayview Asset Management is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, including whole loans, asset-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and other credit-related assets.
The AI Business Analyst will be a crucial member of the IT Project Management Office (PMO), responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and AI solutions. This role involves working closely with stakeholders across the organization to gather, analyze, and document requirements, and to ensure that AI projects are aligned with business goals. The AI Business Analyst will also support the PMO in project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting to ensure successful delivery of AI initiatives. The AI Business Analyst ensures a competent grasp of business insight and acquires knowledge about the company's functions.
Requirements Analysis & Documentation

Coordinate the analysis and documentation of business and AI solution requirements by capturing current and future-state processes, data inputs/outputs, and AI integration needs.

Develop and maintain detailed documentation including AI-specific business requirements, model expectations, training data characteristics, functional specifications, project timelines, process flows, and user stories tailored to intelligent systems.

Managing project documentation, requirements, and updates within JIRA and Confluence.

Ensure traceability between business goals and technical AI implementation across Internal and External platforms.
Business Needs & Solution Framing

Anticipate and interpret evolving business needs in the context of automation, decision intelligence, and AI enablement.

Collaborate with data ops, MLOps, and IT teams to translate ambiguous or conceptual business objectives into actionable, measurable AI-driven solutions.

Support the definition of evaluation criteria (e.g., model accuracy, performance thresholds, explainability) that align with business value.
Stakeholder Collaboration

Partner closely with IT PMO, Internal and External Development Teams (especially AI/ML engineers and product owners), and Subject Matter Experts to ensure accurate, aligned execution of AI projects.

Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and AI solution architects to ensure model outputs, training logic, and automation flows meet business needs.
SDLC Participation & AI Workflow Familiarity

Actively engage in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with emphasis on AI lifecycle elements such as data acquisition, feature engineering, model selection, training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.

Help define AI model lifecycle management processes including version control, performance degradation alerts, and re-training cycles.
Process & System Analysis

Analyze AI-enhanced business processes to uncover pain points, improvement opportunities, and areas suitable for predictive modeling, generative automation, or intelligent routing.

Propose and validate AI solutions through feasibility analysis and cost/benefit assessments.
Workshops, Presentations & Stakeholder Buy-In

Conduct workshops to explore AI opportunities, communicate data needs, and align stakeholders on AI use case viability.

Present proposals, model findings, and outcomes in business-friendly language to executives and project sponsors.

Facilitate solution walkthroughs and model demos to validate requirements and gain sign-off.
Risk & Issue Management

Work with IT Governance team to proactively identify risks and ethical considerations associated with AI solutions, including bias, model drift, and data privacy.

Responsible for translating identified risks and ethical considerations to the relevant stakeholders.

Document, monitor, and help resolve project risks and blockers in collaboration with delivery leads and technical teams.
Communication & Executive Engagement

Communicate complex AI concepts, limitations, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Work with solution teams to prepare presentations for executive leadership, articulating the strategic impact and progress of AI initiatives.

Anticipate and understand business expectations and recommend the most appropriate response to complex or ambiguous requirements.
- Translate user feedback and AI performance metrics into refined requirements and enhancements.

Bachelor's Degree – Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration or Finance preferred.

At least 5 years of experience in a role such as Business Analyst, Process Engineer, or Business Process, preferably in a PMO or technology-driven environment.

Exposure to AI, machine learning, or data-driven projects.

Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, Confluence, JIRA, SQL, Python, ChatGPT, Azure or similar.

Strong knowledge of business analysis techniques and methodologies (e.g. BABOK, Agile).

Should be capable of showing experience in transforming or enhancing a process.

Possess superior communication and interpersonal skills, along with the capacity to resolve problems effectively.

Proficiency with various Microsoft programs, skilled in analyzing data sets and assessing process flows, complemented by research and design expertise.

Exceptional skills in writing and documentation, inclusive of both technical details and business communication.

Demonstrated success in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and overseeing third-party solution deployments.

Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Relevant certifications (e.g. CBAP, PMP, ITIL) are a plus
