In support of the Strategic Framework for FY 2026 the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is seeking professional consulting services to provide support in developing a working inventory management workflow to deliver Taxpayer Correspondence Services (TCS). The Senior Data Analyst will provide coordination and leadership to project team members in the identification, collection, and interpretation of complex datasets. This role will lead efforts to analyze data, develop and evaluate solution alternatives, and prepare documentation to ensure effective knowledge transfer to stakeholders. The Senior Data Analyst serves as the primary liaison between technical teams, project leadership, and client stakeholders for all data-driven initiatives
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the detailed identification and collection of project-related data from multiple sources.
- Interpret, analyze, and transform complex datasets into actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Develop and evaluate solution alternatives based on analytical findings.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all project documentation.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to junior analysts and team members.
- Coordinate knowledge transfer activities, ensuring project insights and best practices are documented.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and analysis needs.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by recommending enhancements to data processes and tools.
- Maintain compliance with all security, privacy, and government data-handling policies.
- Supports business process analysis by mapping data-driven workflows and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data analysis, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis, data visualization, and interpretation.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
- Ability to maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Strong knowledge of database structures, data modeling, and ETL processes.
- Experience working on federal government contracts or in a government environment.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate data efforts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level reports
Desired Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in federal financial or tax-related programs.
- Knowledge of IRS operational and reporting requirements.
