- Perform data profiling and quality analysis to identify data inconsistencies, duplications, missing values, and cleansing requirements that will inform migration strategies.
- Document current data flows and integration points, mapping how data moves between systems, databases, and external partners to understand complexity and interdependencies.
- Analyze business requirements and data usage patterns by interviewing stakeholders and reviewing current reporting, analytics, and operational processes to define future state needs.
- Assess compliance and security requirements by reviewing current PII/PHI handling, data classification, and regulatory adherence to establish baseline requirements for vendors.
- Evaluate current technical infrastructure and capabilities, documenting existing platforms, tools, databases, and integration technologies to inform modernization planning.
- Prepare detailed assessment reports and gap analyses that clearly articulate current state, desired future state, risks, and complexity factors for vendor evaluation.
- Support vendor scoping activities by translating technical findings into business requirements, participating in vendor meetings, and helping evaluate proposed solutions against assessment findings.
- Create data dictionaries and documentation of critical business entities, relationships, and definitions to ensure consistent understanding across all stakeholders and vendors.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Data Architect to prioritize data conversion and migration activities based on business criticality, technical complexity, and risk assessment.
- Data Discovery & Profiling – Expertise in using tools and techniques to analyze data quality, completeness, and structure across diverse systems and formats.
- Business Requirements Analysis – Strong ability to gather, document, and translate business needs into technical specifications and vendor requirements.
