Whitley Penn, a leading CPA and Consulting firm, is seeking a Data Analytics Software Engineer to support automation and data analysis initiatives for our Forensic, Litigation and Valuation Services (FLVS) practice. This role will focus on streamlining repetitive tasks in Microsoft Excel and Word, enhancing reporting accuracy, and supporting forensic investigations through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and experience in data analytics and software engineering.
NOTE: This is an on-site position in our Fort Worth office.

How Will You Make an Impact?
- Automate financial reporting and documentation workflows using Microsoft Excel (VBA, PowerPivot) and Word.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and scripts using SQL, Python, and R.
- Create interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI and other tools.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential fraud indicators.
- Collaborate with forensic accountants to improve data accessibility and reporting efficiency.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and risk analysis with predictive modeling.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of automated processes and financial reports.
How Will You Get Here?
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field required.
- Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or software engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA Macros, PowerPivot, Solver Tool) and Word automation.
- Experience with SQL, Python, R, and Power BI.
- Experience in financial analysis preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting practices preferred.
- Familiarity with NetSuite, QuickBooks, and other financial tools preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
