Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Data Science Engineer with a strong interest in AI/ML and advanced analytics to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing and applying data science techniques to solve complex customer problems. This role will involve hands-on experience in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making to help shape the data strategy and drive insights from large, varied datasets.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with data and subject matter experts and customer teams to seek, understand, validate, interpret, and correctly use data and business insights

Train, validate and deploy machine learning pipelines
-
Test, troubleshoot, and enhance customer software applications with and on behalf of customers

Identify application performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations
-
Write application specifications, tutorials and documentation
Qualifications You Must Have:
- 3+ years of experience solving complex problems using data science methods, including applied machine learning (regression, classification, supervised, and unsupervised learning) and time-series data analysis.

Proficient in scalable machine learning (e.g., MapReduce, streaming) and numpy, panda data science libraries, and skilled in data cleansing, normalization, and version control using Git or similar tools.

Experience with machine learning model training and analysis through open-source frameworks (Pytorch, Tensorflow, Sklearn) and analyzing model performance with relevant metrics and optimizing.

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Qualifications We Prefer:

MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent STEM fields with a strong foundation in linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics.

Able to work independently, drive projects autonomously, and contribute effectively in team settings.

Skilled in improving processes, systems, or products, mentoring junior engineers, and addressing complex, multi-faceted problems.

Knowledgeable, motivated, ethical, and focused on advancing organizational goals with strong verbal and written communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
