Position Overview:
The Business Data Analyst will work closely with the Silco’s President, CIO, Data Architect, and leaders of other departments on various data projects, including data migration/conversions from acquisitions, data transformations as a result of business changes, and various projects supporting other departments with data analysis and or transformations.
The Business Data Analyst will spend time shadowing various departments to learn the business in order to develop into a valuable resource across the company combining knowledge of Silco’s data structure with context of how the business operates.
Ultimately, the Business Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usability of data across business processes and systems. This role focuses on analyzing and normalizing data from diverse sources, identifying trends and anomalies, and implementing corrective actions to improve data integrity. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and enforce data standards, create processes for ongoing data validation, and provide insights that support business decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, migrate, and transform data in and out of Salesforce and other software platforms to support changes in the business and provide key reporting to business stakeholders.
- Analyze and reconcile data from multiple platforms to identify discrepancies, gaps, or patterns.
- Normalize data into standardized formats to ensure consistency across systems.
- Investigate anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and apply corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain data quality metrics, dashboards, and reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance standards and best practices.
- Work closely with IT and business teams to design processes & controls that improve accuracy and reduce duplication.
- Document processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives around data management.
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and/or data integration tools.
- Experience with data cleansing, normalization, and quality frameworks.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with data governance and master data management concepts is a plus.
