Investment Data Analyst Job Description

Location: Cincinnati, OH, 45202

Position Summary:

The Investment Data Analyst is a member of the Portfolio Management Team and is accountable for supporting the development and maintenance of investment data pipelines, validating data across systems, and helping with reconciliations. The position ensures that internal and proprietary systems have clean, reliable, and timely data to support investment decision-making.

Data Management & Systems QA

Assist in maintaining investment data pipelines and database processes that feed portfolio monitoring tools.
Help validate data accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, and escalate issues for resolution.
Collaborate with Operations and technology to ensure smooth data flow across systems.
Contribute to workflow documentation and quality checks to reduce manual errors and improve reliability.

Portfolio Implementation & Trading Support:

Assist with portfolio rebalancing workflows by preparing trade files, reviewing model outputs, and validating account-level data.
Support the PM team with IPS target reviews, allocation checks, and benchmark alignment across client accounts.
Help prepare materials for Asset Allocation Studies and Dynamic Asset Allocation updates.
Coordinate with Operations to monitor trade status, resolve trade breaks, and ensure accurate settlement.

Data Integrity & Pipelines:

Support reconciliation of portfolio data across Black Diamond, SS&C, FactSet, and internal systems.
Assist in daily checks under supervision to ensure reliable inputs for portfolio monitoring.
Build and maintain basic data pipelines and workflows using Python, SQL, and Excel/Power BI.
Monitor exceptions, log discrepancies, escalate issues, and track resolutions to ensure long-term reliability of internal and proprietary systems.

What We Expect / Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field.
1–3 years of experience in data analysis, financial operations, or investment services.
Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivots, lookups) and working knowledge of SQL.
Foundational experience with Python for data processing or reconciliation
