Role Overview
Mercor is seeking experienced Data Science professionals to collaborate on high-impact research projects with leading AI labs. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence the development of advanced AI systems by contributing expertise in code validation, prompt refinement, algorithmic evaluation, and model benchmarking.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and refine AI-generated prompts, responses, and code
- Validate technical concepts for accuracy and reliability
- Provide structured feedback on clarity, quality, and performance
- Organize and tag content by topic and complexity level
- Support benchmarking initiatives to assess and improve model capabilities
Ideal Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied statistics (industry or research)
- Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field (Bachelor’s minimum; advanced degree preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with R, Java, or Scala is a plus
- Hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models with scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Skilled in statistical analysis, data wrangling, and feature engineering on large datasets
Project Timeline
- Start Date: Immediate
- Duration: 1–2 months
- Commitment: 15–25 hours/week (flexible up to 40 hours/week)
- Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your own time
Compensation & Contract
- Competitive pay: $80–$120/hour, based on experience
