At Adobe, we are building the next generation of secure, scalable, and intelligent security data platforms. As a Staff Data Engineer on our Security Data Platform team, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and governing the data infrastructure that powers our global security analytics and threat detection capabilities.
We are passionate about scaling our ingestion pipelines, mapping data to common security models, and strengthening governance and observability across all flows. Together, we are driving adoption of security data standards and governance practices that enable trusted and well-documented data at enterprise scale. You will bring your expertise in Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) to configure, optimize, and create detections using Splunk Processing Language (SPL). By collaborating with data scientists, cybersecurity specialists, engineers, and product managers, you will help build innovative, forward-thinking solutions that improve security insights while advancing Adobe’s mission to deliver secure, resilient, and customer-focused products.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will lead governance processes that improve data quality, lineage, retention, and access. You will provide guidance on observability solutions across both cloud and on-premise environments, while also designing and optimizing secure data pipelines that use tools such as Cribl to support flexible routing, filtering, and enrichment at scale. You will help drive adoption of common security data models such as OCSF, CEF, CIM, and ECS, and you will develop scalable systems for both structured and unstructured security data. You will also manage Splunk ES environments, tuning performance and ensuring fast, reliable onboarding and search capabilities.
What we’re looking for
We believe the ideal candidate will bring:
10+ years in data engineering, architecture, and distributed systems, with at least 5 years focused on data security.
Experience mapping fields to security models like OCSF, CEF, CIM, or ECS.
Success in designing and managing data pipelines, including work with Cribl.
Strong programming skills in Python, Bash, Java, or Scala.
Deep knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ATT&CK, and CIM.
Hands-on experience with Splunk ES administration and infrastructure management.
Familiarity with EDR, SIEM, and SOAR tools at enterprise scale.
Proficiency in SPL for building and tuning detections.
Experience with AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure, and big data technologies such as Spark, Iceberg, Hive, Trino, or Hadoop.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Nice to have
A passion for cybersecurity.
Contributions to open standards like OCSF or ECS.
Experience with SIEM migrations, data catalogs, or observability deployments.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $153,600 -- $286,600 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
