We are building the world's largest network of doctors, patients, and first-party data, applying AI to every step of bringing new therapies to market. Our first product ensures patients get life-changing therapeutics as quickly and cheaply as possible by abstracting complex insurance, affordability, and supply chain logistics. Backed by top-tier investors, we are seeking an
Applied AI Engineer to take
end-to-end responsibility for projects that drive user growth, operational efficiency, and revenue generation.
This is a demanding, high-autonomy role focused on the production use of LLMs and ML to solve core business problems in the highly complex healthcare and life sciences space. You will operate as an owner, driving impact across the product surface area and influencing business decisions.
If you join, you will:
- AI Product Ownership: Spearhead AI augmentation and automation projects with end-to-end responsibility (definition, design, development, launch, success). Projects include unintuitive classifications, data extraction/summarization, precise content generation, reference-based Q&A, and multimodal model-powered bots
- Zero-to-One Development: Drive product development from conceptualization through production, collaborating closely with go-to-market and operations teams
- AI Strategy & Research: Stay on top of emerging AI methods, drive decisions on model selection (including fine-tuning), and establish experimentation and evaluation protocols for accuracy and consistency
- System Automation: Decipher and automate complex, branching workflows (e.g., insurance coverage, affordability programs) using combined AI/ML approaches and RPA/scraping to operate third-party platforms
- Engineering Scalability: Develop engineering process, tools, and systems (e.g., one-click eval systems) to support faster AI product development and model invocation efficiency, ensuring data and ML pipelines are robust to input variation
- Client Engagement: Participate actively in client engagements to understand requirements and deliver innovative solutions
Requirements
- Experience: 0-15 years of experience as an AI Engineer, ML Engineer, or ML Research Engineer at a high-quality company or early-stage startup
- Expertise: Proven ability to work on real production use cases of LLMs and other ML techniques to solve business problems
- Technical Stack: Proficiency in our core stack: Python, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes
- Ownership Mindset: Low-ego, hungry to learn, and excited about intense, impactful work; expected to "act like an owner" with a high level of autonomy and responsibility
- Product Focus: Ability to develop a deep understanding of the product surface area and what drives the business to ensure maximum impact
Benefits
- Impact: Work on life-changing therapeutics, getting more patients on therapy faster, and establishing partnerships to support drug development in a large, complex market
- Compensation: Highly competitive salary ($150,000 - $225,000) and competitive equity
- Career Growth: Accelerated career progression in an intense, impactful work environment
- Work Policy: 100% On-site in our Soho, NYC office, 5 days/week
- Visa Support: Visa sponsorship is available
