The Role
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Alternative Credit investment team, with a focus on asset-backed lending strategies. This role sits directly
on the investment team and will apply quantitative analysis to evaluate, monitor, and optimize structured credit and asset-backed opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with investment professionals to design and implement quantitative models for asset-backed lending.
- Analyze loan-level and pool-level datasets to extract insights on collateral performance, credit risk, and portfolio behavior.
- Build and maintain Python-based forecasting, valuation, and risk analysis models.
- Automate ingestion, cleaning, and transformation of diverse financial datasets.
- Present findings and recommendations to portfolio managers and senior investment leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field (Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics).
- Complete fluency in Python for data manipulation, statistical modeling, and visualization.
- Demonstrated interest in finance.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or investing.
- Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences (investment team members).
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $125,000 to $175,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
