Job Description
Summary
Responsible for the development and administration of data pipelines, the data warehouse, and BI tools. Transform raw data into meaningful insights. This is accomplished through interactive and user-friendly dashboards and reports.
The Data Engineer III role is responsible for the design and development of enterprise data solutions based on business requirements. Work closely with the business to gather requirements and translate into a viable solution to solve complex business challenges. This role will understand various database technology platforms and data relationships to develop robust reporting and analytic services. In addition, the role will adhere to and serve as a data warehouse resource for the organization. This role will also be responsible for the development and administration of BI tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Interprets and executes data project requests. Presents report data in Power BI in a meaningful way, accessible and clear for individuals at all levels of understanding.

Develops queries, functions, stored procedures, and views to support reporting and data extraction, utilizing standards and best practices to ensure data accuracy and security.

Significant experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI and up to date with the current version of Power BI and its capabilities.

Experience with various database platforms and cloud technology including Azure and Snowflake.
-
Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL Server solutions, including stored procedures, SSIS packages, and views and other database objects.

Participates in team-based problem solving and multidisciplinary team use of various data-driven process improvement techniques.

Develops best practice procedures for end users to facilitate the use of reporting tools and applications.

Practices good software engineering techniques and standards to reduce coding errors and ensures robustness and efficiency of work products.

Adopts new techniques and technologies.

Assists with mentoring and training of less experienced IT staff members.

Education and/or Experience
BS/BA and 6+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 2 years of SME in respective areas
Computer Skills

Advanced SSIS development skills, including parameterization, and partition switching.

Strong experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
-
Advanced proficiency with ETL and ELT frameworks, SQL, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for the generation and extraction of data for use in analytics and reporting.

Proficient in creating complex DAX queries in Power BI Desktop & Report Builder.

Strong knowledge of Power BI Report Builder tool.

Strong knowledge of Power BI service.

Ensure code quality with Test Driven Development/ unit testing.
Familiarity with the following is desirable.

Real-time data streaming experience

Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, X12 EDI, HIPAA compliance)

Proficiency in Python programming language

Proficiency in Azure and Azure DevOps
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Certification is highly desirable

This position works remote location with management approval based on business requirements). Working Hours
This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job responsibilities and reasonable meet deadlines for work deliverables. The individual must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. Work hours may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business. Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

This position requires no travel however attendance maybe required at various local conferences and meetings.
