City Wide’s Data Analyst is responsible for driving operational efficiency and franchise profitability by transforming data into actionable insights. This role requires a strong knowledge of the City Wide Model and business operations to create both standard and custom reports.
About the Role
Partnering with business process leaders and the Information Technology (IT) Analytics team, the Data Analyst will maintain and improve the reporting data warehouse, delivering accurate visualizations and detailed analysis that enable data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Create & update reports using Power BI and other reporting tools to illuminate business insights, based on requirements received from business owners and augmented by manager and members of IT team.
- Draw conclusions from analysis of data and reports that lead to improvements in business processes and individual, team, and franchise performance.
- Ensures the accuracy of reports through rigorous testing procedures.
- Documents various reports for users and other members of IT team.
- Regularly ensures completeness and accuracy of source data warehouse systems in MS Fabric and MS SQL Server and the processes that populate the data warehouse systems, following accepted practices, procedures, and schedules approved by management.
- Acts as a liaison between business units and IT departments.
- Participate in business process modelling sessions.
- Participates in data warehouse modelling sessions.
- Conduct interviews and perform analysis to create business cases for projects.
- Conduct preliminary investigations for project requests.
- Review project requirements, specifications, tests, support and training plans to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Participates in root cause analysis to recommend appropriate actions to improve productivity for the business units and IT.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Performance metrics
- Report Accuracy Rate - Percentage of distributed reports containing zero critical errors or requiring no rework within a reporting period.
- Report Turnaround Time - Average time (in business days) taken from receipt of a formal report request to final delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field required.
- 3+ years' experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Prove experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across departments and with IT team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook), CRM systems, and Power BI.
