Summary:
The People Data Engineer is responsible for maintaining and evolving data systems and processes that drive insight into the employee experience. The role is accountable for developing and administering data systems that support the HR/people analytics strategy and advance the goals and mission of Children's Health. Reporting to Human Resources, the People Data Engineer manages data export and load processes for people analytics tools, produces benchmarking data reports, and assists with data administration of employee listening and talent assessment tools.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, test, debug, validate, and document data feeds from Human Capital Management systems into multi-dimensional data tools for analysis and reporting.
- Assist in the design of relational and dimensional schemas to optimally capture data to support user analysis and reporting needs.
- Identify and document the data standards and calculations used to compute people or talent metrics resulting in consistent and trusted reporting. Evaluate the availability of credible, objective benchmarks and select external/internal comparisons; facilitate participation in surveys and collection of benchmarks.
- Serve as an administrator of the HR/People Analytics reporting solution. Acts as liaison to HR leaders and vendors to assist in resolving problems with reporting systems.
- Ensure governance over HR data including permissions and security for reporting systems.
- Ensure timely completion and high-quality production of deliverables including, but not limited to, the creation of appropriate technical documentation such as data flow diagrams and data dictionaries. Provide end-user training as necessary.
- Understand the data available in multiple source systems and existing business intelligence technology tools; identify capability/data gaps. Work with HRIS and IT to build future capability to fill gaps.
- Collaborate with HR leaders to administer solutions that provide insight into HR processes and captures the voice of the employee including, but not limited to, engagement surveys and employee exit interviews.
- Assist with administration of systems that assess and measure employee or leadership capabilities.

WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years experience in multi-dimensional database development and management including complex database queries, procedures, and functions required
- Minimum of 3 years experience with advanced technical software (ex. Python, R, SQL server, Tableau server, API integrations, Cloud solutions) required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in data analytics required
- Minimum of 2 years experience scripting ETL code required
- Minimum of 1 year Experience in Human Resources/People Analytics preferred
- Minimum of 1 year Experience with HCM systems (ex. Infor CloudSuite, Workday) preferred
EDUCATION
- Four-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related degree OR equivalent experience required
