Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Data Migration Engineer to lead the migration of CAD data from SolidWorks into a PDM system This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and organization of engineering data as we transition to a centralized product lifecycle management environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute the migration of legacy and active SolidWorks files into the designated PDM system.
- Analyze existing file structures, metadata, and revision histories to ensure accurate mapping and migration.
- Develop and implement scripts or tools to automate data transfer and validation processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, and PLM teams to define data standards, workflows, and folder structures.
- Perform data cleansing, deduplication, and formatting to meet PDM requirements.
- Validate migrated data for completeness, accuracy, and usability.
- Provide documentation and training to users on accessing and managing data in the new PDM environment.
- Troubleshoot migration issues and provide ongoing support during and after the transition.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or actively pursuing degree.
- 3+ years of experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM (or other PDM systems).
- Strong understanding of CAD file structures, configurations, and references.
- Experience with data migration tools, scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python), and database queries.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
