About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sr. AWS Greengrass IoT Core Engineer to join our aerospace client’s team in Brea, CA. This role is focused on designing and deploying edge computing and IoT solutions that connect complex hardware systems with the cloud. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS Greengrass v2, AWS IoT Core, and Golang, along with a background in secure device integration and data flow optimization.

This is an onsite role only (no remote option).

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement edge computing solutions using AWS Greengrass v2.
Integrate AWS IoT Core for secure device connectivity, telemetry ingestion, and rule-based data routing.
Develop and deploy Lambda functions and containerized applications on edge devices.
Program in Golang, Java, or Node.js for edge application development.
Collaborate with embedded systems teams to integrate with hardware.
Implement secure communication protocols (MQTT, TLS) and manage device authentication/authorization.
Monitor and troubleshoot IoT device fleets using AWS IoT Device Management and CloudWatch.
Optimize data flow between edge and cloud for latency-sensitive applications.
Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and system testing.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of relevant experience in software/IoT engineering.
5+ years of hands-on experience with:
AWS Greengrass (v2 preferred)
AWS IoT Core
Golang
Strong skills in Java and/or Node.js; familiarity with C++ is a plus.
Proven experience deploying and managing IoT solutions in production.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Aerospace domain experience is highly preferred, though not mandatory.
