Job Purpose
The Data Engineer I will provide key strategic and technical support to each of Green Courte Residential Holdings (GCRH), its managed companies, and be a key player in enhancing GCRH’s and GCRH’s portfolio companies’ data function. The Data Engineer I will be responsible for building and maintaining the vast ecosystem of data and analytics at GCRH. Given the rapid pace of change in the data and analytics role, the Data Engineer I will also be a key technical visionary for GCRH, helping the company find new efficiencies using technology by building a deep understanding of GCRH’s value proposition and processes, continually staying informed with developments in the data and analytics space, and assessing the application of new technology to the business.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Building end-user experiences to allow for self-service Business Intelligence (BI) across a variety of technical experience levels.
- Uncovering new insights by mining Green Courte’s data warehouse and surface analytics to business teams.
- Assisting in the development of machine learning models and GCP’s MLOps framework.
- Developing deep intuition for Green Courte and its platform investments’ data to rapidly create or augment data assets.
- Identifying and implementing operational efficiencies through automation and/or integration.
- Insisting on the highest data integrity and establishing scalable quality checks and controls.
- Maintaining crisp data documentation to enable data accessibility to users of all technical competencies and monitoring user engagement to maximize impact.
- Managing GCP’s data catalog and ensuring robust data discoverability for all end users.
- Providing ad hoc analytical support and analyses to support strategic decision-making
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data & Analytics or a related field.
- Experience using Power BI to build operational reports/visuals that provide actionable insights (DAX measures, star schema, etc.) and deep understanding of UX best practices.
- Advanced SQL skills including experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse).
- Exceptional data modeling skills with deep understanding of various modeling approaches.
- Knowledge of machine learning libraries, i.e, scikit-learn, pytorch, and MLOps infrastructure like feature stores, monitoring tools, and model registries.
- Some experience with Python for sourcing and transforming data from third-party APIs.
- Familiarity with git for version control and basic CI concepts (branching, pull requests, etc).
- Experience with deployment pipelines in GitHub, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Excellent communication skills; able to communicate highly technical solutions to nontechnical audiences.
- Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Curious spirit and continuous learner; ability to distinguish between fads and trends in data technology.
- Collaborative nature and a good team player.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with orchestration (Airflow/NiFi) and transformation frameworks (dbt/SQLMesh) is a plus.
- Experience with financial planning systems Vena, Planful, Workday, Hyperion, etc. is a plus.
- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, and Hive is a plus.

Working Conditions
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position requires to be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week. This position will require occasional travel.
