Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Scientist to collaborate closely with talent representatives, executives, and cross-divisional teams - including sports, music, brand consulting, endorsements, TV/film production & sales, digital marketing, and new ventures. This role will be responsible for managing requests for data that inform signing meetings, pitches, presentations, and business development, while proactively surfacing insights and trends that drive new opportunities.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical expertise with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for a relationship-driven, creative industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with talent representatives and internal divisions to identify the methodology to answer business questions and fulfill the subsequent data needs, evaluating multiple sources, for meetings, pitches, and presentations.
- Proactively monitor and analyze relevant data to identify trends, opportunities, and strategic insights.
- Organize, structure, and present proprietary data along with relevant benchmarks in a visually compelling and easy-to-use format for both internal and client-facing purposes.
- Manage our relationship with a primary third-party data provider, ensuring maximum value and high-quality output from the partnership.
- Identify, negotiate, and manage additional third-party data sources and syndicated research tools to expand our insights capabilities and measurement systems.
- Build and maintain models, dashboards, reports, and other data visualization tools for various teams.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with any contractual or legal restrictions as well as quality & utility for business goals.
- Stay current on emerging data tools, analytics platforms, and industry trends relevant to our business and identify potential gaps in our data.
Required Competencies/Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a quantitative analytics role; experience in entertainment, sports, or marketing preferred.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker), programming/data analysis languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL), and syndicated research tools (e.g., Nielsen, GWI, Scarborough).
- Demonstrated experience managing third-party data providers and vendor relationships.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-motivated, proactive problem solver with a curiosity-driven mindset and a strong sense of initiative.
- Experience with predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and designing analytical frameworks to inform business strategy is a plus.
Range Media Partners adheres to the state's pay transparency laws. We believe in fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment, and as such, we are committed to providing transparency regarding compensation. The base salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
