About this Opportunity:
As a Data Platform Admin you'll support the day-to-day operations of enterprise data platforms under the guidance of senior engineers. Your responsibilities will include maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting databases across on-premises and cloud environments. This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in SQL Server, MySQL, and/or Postgres, who is eager to grow their skills in database performance, automation, and cloud technologies.
For External Candidates:
Candidates must work in-office at one of the following locations for at least 3 days per week: Omaha, NE; Sacramento, CA.

In this role, you'll get to:
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of secure, highly available databases across on-prem and AWS environments such as RDS and Aurora.
- Support performance tuning efforts by analyzing SQL queries and assisting in database optimization tasks.
- Write and test basic automation scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support operational efficiency.
- Participate in database provisioning, user access management, patching, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Monitor database health and performance using native tools and dashboards, escalating issues as needed.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement and maintain physical data models and database structures.
- Provide first-level support for production database environments and assist in troubleshooting incidents.
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to support knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
We're looking for talent who:
- Has 1–3 years of experience administering SQL Server, MySQL, and/or Postgres in a production or development environment.
- Is familiar with writing and debugging SQL queries, stored procedures, and basic automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or similar tools.
- Has exposure to AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, EC2, or S3; Azure experience is a plus.
- Understands basic concepts of database backup, recovery, and high availability.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to follow established procedures.
- Communicates effectively and work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Salary Range:
$30.72 - $45.75
