Key job responsibilities

Architect and implement sophisticated data pipelines that support machine learning model development
Design and manage scalable AWS infrastructure with precision and creativity
Explore emerging data technologies to continuously optimize existing systems and models
Enhance data ingestion processes to ensure exceptional data integrity and availability
Develop automated reporting and analysis solutions that empower self-service capabilities

A day in the life
Your day will be a dynamic blend of technical innovation and collaborative problem-solving. You'll work closely with data scientists, designing robust infrastructure, transforming complex datasets, and translating technical challenges into elegant solutions that impact millions of shoppers worldwide.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1+ years of data engineering experience
Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
Bachelor's degree
Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, TypeScript)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
Experience with big data processing technology (e.g., Hadoop or ApacheSpark), data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL, and reporting/analytic tools and environments
Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, and IAM roles and permissions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
