EMPLOYER: Delta Dental Insurance Company
TITLE:
Senior Data Engineer
Location: 1130 Sanctuary Parkway, Alpharetta, GA 30009; Must live within reasonable commuting distance from HQ and able to appear in office as required.
Salary Range: 40 hours/week; $150,000 - $160,000/year
RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpret business requirements to derive technical solutions via systems analysis, design, and prototyping.

Determine best business/technical solutions to meet client needs ensuring the ability to meet users' implementation time frames.

Translate functional specifications into technical designs and mapping documents.

Develop ETL solutions using SAP Data Services, PL/SQL.
-
Perform Unit Testing, Segment Testing, Performance Testing, and support End-to-End testing. Deploy code to higher environments.

Develop scripts to productionalize ETL jobs and automate repetitive tasks.

Must live within reasonable commuting distance from HQ and able to appear in office as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related ETL Development/Data Engineering role.

Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server to design and implement database schemas and structures

SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Oracle SQL Developer to develop and optimize entity relationship models, craft complex queries and refine them to drive business insights and fulfill analytical requirements

Design data models using Erwin and Visio, create schemas, and write stored procedures, functions, packages, views, DDL, DML, and SQL queries to enhance database operations

Oracle AWR to enhance database performance by executing indexing strategies, streamlining queries, and applying normalization and de-normalization techniques for OLTP and OLAP environments (Star Schema/Snowflake Schema)

Extract, transform, and load data across systems by using ETL tools such as SAP Data Services, Azure Data Factory and SSIS to ensure seamless data integration

Build and deploy interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau to deliver actionable insights

Automate data transformation and integration processes by scripting in Shell or Python

SAP Data Services, Azure Data Factory and TIDAL Design to orchestrate and manage job scheduling workflows and automate file transmission processes to support comprehensive ETL pipelines

GitHub or SVN to manage and maintain source code for version control and ensuring consistency across ETL scripts and database management processes

Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including skills in system design (Visio), programming languages (SQL, PL/SQL, Python, and Shell scripting), documentation tools (Confluence, JIRA, and Office), project management methodologies (Agile and Scrum) and tools (JIRA and Microsoft Project), configuration management systems (Git, SVN and Jenkins) for installation processes and implementation techniques.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 22. $150,000-$160,000
