Introduction to the team

We create and deliver an aligned, dedicated marketing strategy to fuel each Expedia Group brand's success. Since our travelers interact with us through our brands, we have a brand focus in our marketing, while leveraging the scale and efficiency we’ve built in functional expertise.

The Expedia SEM Engineering team’s mission is to build the best-in-class platform to enable marketing and optimize value for EG Brands. This platform powers critical company-wide use cases like SEM Account structuring, coverage, signals, RLSA management, Account hygiene, etc. by reducing ops time to market and providing scale of operations. The platform is used by multiple SEM Operations teams for growth and engagement efforts, as well as brand marketing efforts.

Technologies we work with include Python, Scala, React, PostgreSQL, Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker, AWS (EC2, S3, EMR, RDS, Kinesis, and multi-data center architecture).

In this role, you will:

Use your outstanding engineering skills, software designs, and technical knowledge to deliver technical solutions to our marketing problems
Identify and embrace new technologies, frameworks, and standard methodologies.
Improve the operational aspects of the platform with updates to our deployment process, test automation, performance tuning, and monitoring
Work closely with architecture, product, and lead business-critical projects.
Share your interests and passions with our fun-loving, active team

Experience and qualifications:

0-2 years Bachelor or Master's in Computer Science or similar engineering field
Ability to rapidly acquire and learn new software skills and technologies
Has moderate strength in at least one language.
Understands data patterns and storage.
Understands software development theory and design.
Understands how functions created fit into team projects.
Understands lower complexity systems.
Has a basic understanding of testing and monitoring
Debugs code.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $87,500.00 to $122,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $140,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
