Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Data Science Analyst.
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Associate Data Science Analyst to join our team who has expertise in machine learning infrastructure and systems. As an Associate Data Science Analyst engineer, you will be a part of the interdisciplinary group of research scientists, clinicians, and engineers and responsible for mentoring and leading a team of junior engineers to achieve the goals of the AI Core. In close collaboration with your colleagues and research scientists at NYU Langone, you will help develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the necessary infrastructure and software pipelines to facilitate this work. You will act as a project leader on specific research projects in AI. As a project leader, you will be responsible for creating the project plans, meeting project timelines, troubleshooting, and resolving technical problems. Leveraging your machine learning expertise, you will also provide technical machine learning advice to faculty and lab staff. Lastly, you will operate under standard procedures and protocols in regulatory and compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
? Work alongside researchers and clinicians to develop highly scalable algorithms for biomedical research based on state-of-the-art machine learning techniques
? Be responsible for the entire pipeline associated with developing such models, including extraction and curation of the datasets, implementing and training the machine learning models, and testing/validating the models to ensure clinical relevancy
? Be involved in the model analysis to understand its deficiencies and thereby to propose refinements to improve the end outcome
? Act as a project leader be responsible for creating project plans, meeting deadlines, and resolving technical problems
? Provide technical guidance to faculty and lab staff on projects at the intersection of machine learning and biomedical research
? Create and maintain the necessary infrastructure and software pipelines
? Adapt machine learning and neural network algorithms and architectures to best exploit modern parallel environments, such as GPUs and distributed clusters
- Represent the organization and research team at relevant meetings and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Typically requires 4 or more years of experience and BA/BS degree or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Experience in Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Control Theory, Data Mining, or Machine Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence)
? Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: C/C++, Python, Javascript
? Experience in building machine learning models for real-world problems involving large scale datasets
? PhD degree in Computer Science or related technical field
? Strong computer systems experience.
? Large data analysis and visualization experience.
? Experience with high performance computing and distributed systems.
? Experience with building and deploying systems in real world environments for data collection, aggregation, and preparation.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $70,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
