We’re assisting our client in hiring a Senior BI Developer to play a key role in modernizing their enterprise data platform. This is a hands-on position for someone who thrives in end-to-end data warehousing—from pulling raw data and building data pipelines to constructing and optimizing data models in a modern Azure cloud environment.
This individual will help lead the organization’s transition from traditional tools (SQL Server, SSIS, Tableau) to a cloud-first BI platform built on Azure SQL Managed Instance and Microsoft Fabric. The right candidate will have a deep technical background, strong business acumen, and the ability to communicate insights and strategy across both technical and non-technical teams.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain data models, ETL pipelines, and data warehouse architecture aligned with Kimball methodology.
- Build and manage end-to-end data solutions from ingestion through visualization across multiple data sources, including SQL Server, Azure SQL, DataVerse, SharePoint, APIs, and unstructured data.
- Develop Azure-based BI and reporting solutions, leveraging Azure SQL Managed Instance, Microsoft Fabric, and related services.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance across the data lifecycle.
- Provide architectural guidance and help shape the Azure Cloud (ACE – Advanced Cloud Engineering) strategy for enterprise data modernization.
- Partner with business teams to communicate insights and ensure alignment between technical design and organizational goals.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in BI development and data warehousing.
- Proven end-to-end experience building and maintaining enterprise data warehouses.
- Expertise in Kimball data modeling methodology and ETL design.
- Proficiency with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure DevOps.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft’s Advanced Cloud Engineering (ACE) principles and modern Azure data architecture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to speak to the data being modeled and presented.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across business and technical teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and/or SSIS.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, API integrations, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with manufacturing or operational data.
- Strong skills in DAX, Power Query (M), and T-SQL.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Lead the modernization of a cloud-native BI and data platform from the ground up.
- Influence the organization’s data strategy, architecture, and reporting standards.
- Hybrid flexibility: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote each week.
- Fully covered health care benefits.
- 401K match 50% up to 8%
