Job Summary:
As the Data Governance Analyst III at Endeavor Health, you will be responsible for developing and managing data governance initiatives to ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of our organization's data assets. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing data governance policies, standards, and procedures, and providing strategic guidance to drive continuous improvement in data governance practices.
This position will serve as the key subject matter expert on Endeavor’s data and reporting meta-data management and governance systems and processes systems which are out of Epic, Data warehouse, Vizient, Tableau and other reporting tools for customers at all levels of the organization. The role also assists in mentoring and training other department members in understanding business models and issues, and provides leadership and mentorship to the data governance team, guiding junior analysts in best practices, problem-solving techniques, and professional development.
To be successful in this role, you will be expected to remain updated on the latest solutions and technologies and advocate for the adoption of industry best practices.
What you will do:

Provide leadership and mentorship to junior data governance analysts, guiding them in best practices, problem-solving techniques, and professional development.

Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for data governance initiatives, aligning with organizational goals and objectives, and driving continuous improvement in data governance practices.

Develop, train, and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and organizational needs.

Facilitate change management efforts to promote adoption of new data reliability processes, tools, and methodologies, addressing resistance and fostering buy-in from stakeholders.

Lead high complexity governance projects and define and monitor governance performance metrics (KPIs), reporting insights to leadership.

Serve as the most senior expert on the development, refinement, and enforcement of processes and governance checklists used by developers in designing and delivering reports, dashboards, and data extracts.

Effectively manage multiple concurrent assignments, mentor other team members and guide and support their work efforts, produce usable documentation and share code & knowledge within Data Analytics team and, as applicable, with colleagues in IT.

Serves as the most senior expert on the latest technologies available in the market and promotes the adoption of relevant technologies. Engage with industry related organizations, such as HIMSS, Epic UGM / XGM, Vizient, Data Visualization as appropriate.

What you will need:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Basic Science or equivalent work experience.

Certifications: EPIC Certification required within 6 months of employment (Endeavor sponsored)

Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Training Certificate
-
Experience: Six (6) or more years of experience.

Unique or Preferred Skills:
-
Epic or another commercial electronic health record (EHR) experience and certifications
-
Knowledge of healthcare industry or healthcare information systems
-
Statistical or mathematical skills or experience working with statistics packages (SPSS, SAS, R etc.)

Master’s level degree or above in a related field
-
Experience in leading projects that span cross-functional teams

Strong intellectual curiosity
-
4-year college degree in information systems, computer science, mathematics, finance, statistics, or a related field
-
Expertise with meta-data management and data governance principles and practices
-
Comprehensive understanding of analytics databases, warehouse, datalakes for both traditional/relational and non-traditional systems (e.g. Oracle, MS-SQL Server, Hadoop, Spark, etc)

Proficient in Utilizing Process/Performance improvement methodologies (IHI, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)

Advanced understanding of complex database queries using SQL or other related tools or languages
-
Experienced with complex data visualization and reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, SSRS, etc)

Strong analytic, problem solving, negotiation, issue resolution and facilitation skills are required

Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication and decision-making skills

Demonstrated technical coaching and mentoring skills
