Position Overview:
We are seeking an Data Analytics Engineer to join our data team as we continue to evolve our data platform and analytics capabilities. This role is ideal for someone who already has a solid foundation in SQL and reporting tools and is ready to grow their skills in cloud data technologies and modern data development.
As an Data Analytics Engineer, you’ll work with both structured SQL environments and newer tools like Power BI, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks. You’ll help bridge the gap between traditional reporting and scalable, modern analytics pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and development of data models, datasets, and reporting layers
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and DAX measures
- Assist with data pipeline development using Azure Data Factory and Databricks
- Write and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
- Help document and validate business logic and metrics
- Collaborate with team members on data quality, consistency, and usability
- Support production data processes
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL or similar)
- Hands-on experience with Power BI (building visuals, using DAX)
- Familiarity with at least one cloud-based data tool (e.g., ADF, Databricks, Synapse, etc.)
- Understanding of data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schema, facts/dimensions)
- Desire to grow into advanced data engineering, DevOps, or analytics automation
- Additional considerations:
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Exposure to Python, notebooks, or version-controlled data workflows
- Experience using Git for code management
- Comfort working with large datasets in cloud storage (e.g., Delta Lake)
- Atlassian Jira experience
