We are seeking a highly motivated software engineer with strong fundamentals and a growth mindset. To succeed in this role, you’ll need experience in software development and servicing, the ability to tackle complex problems, and a passion for learning quickly and independently.
You’ll join the Information Worker Services (IWS) team, which focuses on delivering secure, intuitive access to devices, applications and organizational content across Windows, Web, and Mobile platforms. This role involves designing, implementing, servicing, and maintaining full-stack applications that power these experiences.

Responsibilities
- Designs, implements, tests, deploys, and maintains high quality end-to-end solutions in a distributed, high scale, high availability environment
- Solves complex problems in a collaborative fashion, driven by customer obsession, to deliver a solid delightful experience to all our features
- Incorporates security considerations throughout the development lifecycle, consulting with the experts and addressing security issues with priority
- Improves our processes and tooling to increase our productivity, leveraging AI assistants as appropriate
- Identifies blocking issues and resolves them in a timely manner. Debugs and analyzes logs to investigate issues in production to diagnose the root cause and provide long-term fixes
- Participates in the On-Call Engineering service rotation for all our services to ensure high availability and prompt resolution of emergent issues
- Contributes to our knowledge base by adding high quality technical documentation and improving our existing content
- Fosters an environment of inclusion and belonging within the team and across our partnerships.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- OR equivalent experience.
- Proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#,or Java and in data querying language (SQL, KQL).
- Reliable understanding of how service to service protocols work (REST, OData, etc.).
- Dependable technical abilities around design, coding, rapid prototyping, debugging, and problem solving.
Other Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, or Java.
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, or Java
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience designing highly performant microservice web services.
- Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals
- Experience in developing distributed services with high scalability in a team environment
Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
