Frontend Software Engineer — AI Infrastructure

One of the fastest-growing AI companies in San Francisco is hiring a Frontend Software Engineer to help design and scale the core infrastructure that powers their AI platform. You’ll build intuitive, high-performance interfaces, improve system reliability, and contribute directly to the products shaping the next generation of intelligent systems. What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure supporting AI-driven applications.
- Write clean, efficient code to automate operational tasks and improve system resilience.
- Troubleshoot and optimize performance, latency, and availability across distributed systems.
- Partner with backend and platform teams to implement best practices in observability, CI/CD, and reliability.
- Lead or participate in post-mortems and continuous improvement initiatives within production environments.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–10 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on frontend development (80% frontend / 20% backend).
- Strong background working at high-growth tech companies or platforms that operate at significant scale (e.g., large social, productivity, or mobility platforms).
- Proven experience building and optimizing modern web applications using TypeScript and React.
- Solid technical foundation—ideally a degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a top program.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Founder mindset — ownership, bias for action, and a willingness to wear multiple hats.
- Deep curiosity and passion for AI-driven technologies and the systems that enable them.
Bonus Points
- Experience contributing to frontend frameworks or performance tooling.
- Familiarity with large-scale data systems or cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Demonstrated ability to balance speed, quality, and maintainability in fast-moving startup environments.
$160-250k base + equity + benefits
