The Data Engineer designs and builds enterprise data management and business intelligence reporting solutions. Develops robust data pipelines and optimized data models to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
What you'll do:
- Designs, develops, and maintains Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to support Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and analytics.
- Collaborates with Business Analysts and other BI developers to ensure data is clean, reliable, and accessible.
- Supports the development and maintenance of data models, data warehouses, and data marts.
- Monitors and troubleshoots data pipeline performance and reliability.
- Documents data flows, transformation logic, and system configurations.
- Participates in data quality initiatives.
- Collaborates with the Software and Data team management to implement systems and processes to enforce and monitor data governance standards.
Candidate qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in building data warehouse or business intelligence solutions required.
- Demonstrates proven experience in SQL and basic scripting (e.g. Python) required.
- Demonstrates understanding of relational databases and data warehousing principles required.
- Demonstrates strong familiarity ETL tools and data integration concepts required.
- Demonstrates proven experience in Microsoft Fabric components, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines and Power BI integration or other data warehousing product architecture preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge of cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) preferred.
- Demonstrates intermediate knowledge in Star and Snowflake schema design and dimensional modeling preferred.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Demonstrates ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions required.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills, both written and oral; consistently writes clearly and concisely for various mediums and audiences.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff at all levels and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates initiative, consistent follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft 365 and Outlook, and develops competency with applicable web-based systems used by the program within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must have access to transit or other reliable transportation to execute the position’s responsibilities.
Job details:
- Compensation: Salary Range $80K-$90K; offers are commensurate with candidate qualifications and experience. The salary range provided represents our current estimate for this role at the time of posting and is subject to change. The final salary will be determined based on a range of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's relevant experience, education, qualifications, skills, certifications, and alignment with organizational needs.
