Embedded Firmware Engineer
We’re looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer who enjoys tackling complex challenges and building reliable, high-performance code for real-world products. In this role, you’ll be designing and optimizing firmware that drives our VI Chip power components—working side by side with talented analog engineers to create control algorithms, troubleshoot, and bring innovative power solutions to life.
You’ll have the freedom to make an impact at every stage of development—from architecture and design to testing and validation—while ensuring the firmware meets performance, cost, and manufacturing goals.
What You’ll Do
- Develop embedded firmware architecture and code for VI Chip power products.
- Partner with analog engineers to design and fine-tune control algorithms.
- Debug and resolve hardware/software issues using tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Define and improve processes, tools, and methods for firmware development.
- Evaluate and select microcontrollers to meet performance and cost targets.
- Translate requirements into actionable tasks, estimates, and deliverables.
- Mentor and collaborate with hardware engineers on firmware-related projects.
- Contribute to specifications, testing, and validation for robust, reusable code.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Master’s a plus).
- 3–5+ years of hands-on embedded firmware experience with microcontrollers or microprocessors.
- Strong skills in C and Assembly; experience with C++ and Python is a plus.
- Solid understanding of debugging, testing, and firmware best practices.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Experience with power supply design/testing, Simulink, StateFlow, or ARM Cortex M0 is a bonus.
