Lead Business Analyst, Infrastructure & Security
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Business Analyst to join our team. This pivotal role requires a unique combination of elite business analysis skills and deep technical expertise in network infrastructure and vulnerability management. The successful candidate will act as the crucial liaison between technical engineering teams, security operations, and business stakeholders, translating complex technical risks and remediation requirements into clear, actionable business strategies and prioritized project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Strategy
- Requirements Elicitation: Lead and facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with stakeholders (including executives, network engineers, and security teams) to elicit, analyze, and document complex business requirements (BRDs) and functional specifications (FRDs).
- Process Modeling: Analyze current-state technical processes (e.g., patch management, firewall changes, network provisioning) and design optimal future-state workflows, utilizing tools like Visio, BPMN, or Lean methodologies to drive efficiency.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage expectations and drive consensus across diverse cross-functional teams, ensuring all deliverables align with organizational security policies and business objectives.
- Reporting & Communication: Develop and deliver executive-level communications, translating highly technical concepts (like CVEs and network architecture risks) into clear, concise, and impactful business language and financial justifications.
Technical Expertise & Domain Leadership
- Vulnerability Management: Drive the lifecycle of vulnerability remediation efforts, from initial scanning and triage (using tools like Nessus, Qualys, or Tenable) through to resolution, ensuring compliance with standards such as NIST CSF or ISO 27001.
- Network Infrastructure: Possess a strong understanding of core network components (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs) and cloud networking concepts (AWS/Azure VPCs). Analyze requirements and recommend technical solutions related to network security and resilience.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including architecture diagrams (often using Visio), standard operating procedures, and configuration specifications.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 3 years focused specifically on IT Infrastructure, Networking, and/or Cybersecurity projects.
- Proven ability to author comprehensive business analysis artifacts (BRDs, user stories, use cases).
- Demonstrable technical background in network engineering or security operations.
- Experience in managing vulnerability scanning programs and interpreting security assessment results.
- Proficiency with process and data modeling tools, including Microsoft Visio.
Preferred Skills & Certifications (Bonus Signals)
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, Network+, CISSP, CISM, or PMI-PBA.
- Hands-on experience with project management and documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow).
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS) in a highly regulated industry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
