About the Role
- We are looking for an experienced Junior Snowflake Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and data models within the Snowflake Data Cloud.
- The ideal candidate will have deep experience in data warehousing, ELT/ETL orchestration, performance tuning, and data modeling, with a strong understanding of data governance, quality, and analytics enablement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ELT workflows within Snowflake using tools like dbt, Airflow, or Matillion.
- Develop and manage data ingestion, transformation, and curation processes from multiple structured and semi-structured data sources.
- Architect and implement Snowflake schemas, including star, snowflake, and data vault models to support analytics and reporting use cases.
- Optimize query performance, clustering, and micro-partitioning to ensure efficient storage and compute utilization.
- Implement role-based access controls, row-level security, and data masking policies to enforce compliance and privacy.
- Collaborate with Data Governance teams to ensure data lineage, cataloging, and metadata integration.
- Monitor data pipelines, capacity usage, and performance metrics using Snowflake’s native tools and alerting mechanisms.
- Automate deployment and configuration of Snowflake environments using CI/CD and version control (Git).
- Partner with business and analytics teams to deliver high-quality, trusted data sets for BI, analytics, and AI initiatives.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Warehousing, with 2+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
- Strong expertise in Spark, Python, SQL (analytical functions, stored procedures, performance optimization).
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake features such as:
- Warehouses, Databases, and Schemas
- Streams, Tasks, and Snowpipe for continuous ingestion
- Time Travel and Zero-Copy Cloning
- Data Sharing and Secure Views
- Query performance tuning and micro-partitioning
- Experience with Snowflake procedures, UDFs, and semi-structured data.
- Exposure to Cortex AI features and interest in AI-driven data engineering.
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT development using tools such as dbt, Airflow, Informatica, Talend, or Azure Data Factory.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (3NF, dimensional, Data Vault).
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices, version control (Git), and automation frameworks.
- Solid knowledge of data governance, quality, and security best practices.
- Experience integrating Snowflake with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
Desired Skills
- Exposure to DataOps frameworks and observability tools (e.g., Monte Carlo, Great Expectations).
- Knowledge of metadata management tools such as Alation, Collibra, or DataGalaxy.
- Experience with streaming or real-time data ingestion (Kafka, Fivetran, Striim, etc.).
Certification(s):
- SnowPro Core Certification
- SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer Certification
- Exposure to cloud integration with Azure, GCP, or AWS (for data movement only, not engineering focus).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with business and IT teams.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Salary Transparency

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $56186 to $87556 /yearly.
This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
