As an Intern Data Engineer on our Technology Enablement team, you’ll help design, develop, and implement data pipelines that power business insights and operational efficiency across the organization. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with cloud technologies, large data sets, and modern data tools—learning how to transform raw information into actionable insights that support strategic decisions.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with architects, data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand existing systems, and build reliable, scalable data solutions. You may also assist in creating data sets, performing data analysis, and building dashboards using modern BI tools.
Shift available: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (This internship in hybrid and requires onsite presence at our Chanhassen, Minnesota location. Relocation assistance, housing, and transportation are not provided. Candidates must reside in or be able to commute locally to the Chanhassen area for the duration of the internship.)
Compensation: $28.00 Hourly
A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you:
- are pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Science, or another engineering discipline.
- have completed your sophomore year of undergraduate studies.
- have completed at least one computer programming course and understand fundamental programming concepts.
- have a basic or previous understanding of Python (strongly preferred).
- understand relational databases and SQL; familiarity with PostgreSQL is a plus.
- have an interest in data engineering, data analytics, and cloud technologies.
- are curious, analytical, and eager to learn modern data tools and methodologies.
On top of that you must:
- possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- be collaborative and enjoy working with cross-functional teams.

- be familiar with or open to learning data visualization tools (such as QuickSight or Tableau).
- have a basic understanding of cloud computing concepts, especially AWS (preferred).
In this position, you will:
- design, build, and maintain data pipelines that support business intelligence and operational reporting needs.
- partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, understand systems, and develop effective data solutions.
- work closely with data analysts to identify data sources, resolve issues, and propose process improvements.
- retrieve, manipulate, and combine structured and unstructured data from multiple systems.
- create and optimize data sets for reporting, analysis, and visualization.
- build dashboards using data visualization tools to deliver clear and actionable insights.
- collaborate within an Agile environment using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- gain exposure to AWS cloud platforms and related data technologies.
- perform additional projects and tasks as assigned by management.
