The Automation Controls Engineer is a supervisory role that is responsible for the installation/integration, testing, maintenance, and repair of automated control systems and equipment. The technician will diagnose and troubleshoot problems and identify solutions to ensure optimal performance and operation of the systems. Responsibilities include installing and configuring control systems, testing and calibrating systems, conducting preventative maintenance, and repairing and replacing system components as needed. The technician will also provide technical support to customers and other technicians and respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a technical background and experience in electrical, mechanical, and computer systems.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot automation control systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot system programming
- Document operational processes for automation control systems
- Install and commission automation control systems
- Design and develop automation control system software
- Provide technical support to operations and other departments
- Design and implement system upgrades and modifications
- Test automation control systems
- Inventory maintenance
- Support new automated projects
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation control systems
- Proficiency with PLC and HMI programming
- Seimens and Allen Bradley software experience
- Experience with electrical system troubleshooting and maintenance
- Knowledge of local and international safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
