The Data Engineer position requires expertise in SQL development, cloud data platforms, and data pipeline design to support the delivery of scalable, reliable, and business-ready data solutions. The individual in this role will design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines and models that enable reliable analytics and business intelligence across the organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a passion for enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Strong proficiency in data pipeline design, development, and orchestration using modern data architectures (e.g., medallion model)
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational data modeling concepts
- Hands-on experience with Azure data services (Data Factory, Synapse, SQL Database, Data Lake)
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT design and automation using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or T-SQL
- Experience developing and maintaining semantic data models to support business intelligence and analytics
- Familiarity with cloud deployment concepts and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to AI/ML data preparation or data infrastructure that supports machine learning workloads
- Working knowledge of version control systems (Git) and Agile software development practices
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with developers, analysts, and business teams

- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure and medallion architecture principles.
- Develop and automate ETL/ELT processes to ensure reliable and efficient data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to prepare, model, and publish data for business intelligence and reporting use cases.
- Create and maintain semantic data models to enable consistent reporting and analytics.
- Implement and manage workflow orchestration using Azure Data Factory or equivalent tools.
- Optimize SQL queries, data models, and pipeline performance for efficiency and scalability.
- Participate in solution design and architectural discussions to evolve the enterprise data platform.
- Automate data workflow monitoring and error handling through scripting and alerting tools.
- Collaborate with application development teams to align data structures with application and reporting needs.
- Support deployment and release processes through Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices.
- Maintain clear documentation of data processes, workflows, and design decisions.
- Ensure security, reliability, and compliance in all data operations and integrations.
- Partner with individuals focused on data governance or quality as needed to align on standards and metadata requirements.
- Contribute to the definition of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in data engineering.
Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance the data platform.
