Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Morristown, NJ - hybrid onsite 3 days per week

Salary Range: $175,000 - $200,000

Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud-based data pipelines and models supporting policy, claims, underwriting, actuarial, and reporting teams. You'll work across AWS and Azure, modernize legacy ODS structures, and ensure high-quality, trusted data for analytics and regulatory needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and operational data models
Develop SQL/Python workflows using AWS services (Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Redshift, Aurora)
Modernize legacy data assets into a lakehouse architecture
Implement CI/CD (Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure DevOps)
Enforce data quality, governance, and regulatory controls
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver curated datasets
Prepare data for analytics, dashboards, and predictive models

Environment:

AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Aurora), Azure (Synapse, Data Factory), Python, SQL, Databricks, Sagemaker, Terraform, CloudFormation, Great Expectations, Tableau/Power BI.

Required Skills

8-10 years of data engineering experience
Strong SQL and Python
Deep experience with AWS data services
ETL/ELT and data modeling expertise
CI/CD pipeline experience
Knowledge of governance and regulatory reporting
Bachelors in CS, Data Engineering, or related field

Preferred Skills

Legacy ODS modernization experience
AWS/Azure data engineering certifications
