Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our team at Coastal Carolina Health Care, P.A. The Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex clinical, operational, and financial data to support decision-making across the outpatient medical clinic. This role plays a critical part in performance improvement, population health management, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in data tools, and a deep understanding of healthcare systems, particularly within outpatient settings.
Responsibilities
- Extract, clean, and analyze data from Electronic Health Records (EHR), including Epic, to identify trends and actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations for clinical, financial, and operational stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to identify data needs and design custom analyses.
- Monitor KPIs such as appointment no-show rates, patient throughput, quality metrics (HEDIS, MACRA/MIPS), and patient satisfaction.
- Provide data support for quality improvement initiatives, grants, and regulatory reporting.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for data integrity, coding accuracy, and metric definitions.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to establishing data governance practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in data analysis, preferably in an outpatient clinical or healthcare setting.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in SQL/Python, Excel, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).
- Experience with EHR systems, especially Epic (Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench).
- Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics, claims data, and risk adjustment methodologies.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills, able to translate complex data into clear insights.
- Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with clinical registries, population health platforms, or patient portals like MyChart.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, NCQA, ACO, UDS).
- Prior experience in value-based care environments.
