Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic software development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible forresponsible for the architecture, implementation, and performance of our Golang microservice ecosystem. This role requires expert knowledge of cloud-native patterns, scalable data persistence, and high-performance inter-service communication to build and evolve our core platform capabilities.

Key SKills and Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of highly scalable, fault-tolerant core application microservices in Golang, strictly adhering to established architectural principles (e.g., domain-driven design, separation of concerns).
Drive optimization efforts for query performance and data modeling across our persistence layer, specifically ensuring high availability and consistency in MySQL, tuning read/write capacity and partitioning strategies for DynamoDB, and optimizing key expiration and cache hit ratios in Redis.
Architect and refine the deployment, scaling, and operational health strategies for services within Kubernetes (EKS), including defining Horizontal Pod Autoscaling rules, resource requests/limits, and service readiness probes.
Standardize and enforce the use of gRPC for efficient internal communication between microservices, including implementing load balancing and robust error handling for remote procedure calls.
Contribute heavily to the development and maintenance of the unified GraphQL API gateway, optimizing resolver performance and implementing effective data loading and caching patterns to prevent over-fetching and improve responsiveness for the React frontend.
Lead the implementation and configuration of the full observability stack, ensuring comprehensive metric collection (replacing deprecated Prometheus functionality), accurate distributed tracing (Jaeger), and centralized telemetry data export via OpenTelemetry Collector.
Proactively identify and resolve complex, distributed system bottlenecks and reliability issues, performing root cause analysis using data from Groundcover and CloudWatch and implementing preventative measures.
Define and maintain security best practices within the backend codebase, including secure API design, input validation, and managing service authentication/authorization mechanisms.
Mentor mid-level and junior engineers on advanced Golang idioms, microservice architecture, clean code standards, and conducting rigorous, constructive code reviews.

Preferred Requirements

4+ years of hands-on, expert-level experience with Golang in a production microservice environment.
Deep practical experience with Kubernetes orchestration, specifically on a managed service like AWS EKS, including deployment manifest definition and troubleshooting.
Expertise managing and optimizing performance across multiple database technologies (MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch).
Proven ability to implement and refine distributed tracing and logging practices using Jaeger and OpenTelemetry in a production environment.

Educational Requirements

A bachelor's degree - Computer Science or equivalent quantitative technical discipline is required. 5+ years of experience in backend development, with significant experience in architecting and deploying distributed systems at scale
Master’s degree preferred.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
