Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will focus on manipulating, transforming, and structuring data to support business intelligence and analytics needs. This role involves working across cloud and on-premises data platforms to deliver scalable and optimized data solutions. Strong proficiency in SQL, data modeling, cloud technologies, and big data tools is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Engineering & Integration:

  • Normalize, structure, and transform data to meet application and analytics requirements.

  • Build scalable datasets and data pipelines from structured and unstructured sources.

  • Design and implement ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Python.

Data Platform Management:

  • Develop and support data solutions across cloud (Azure) and on-premises platforms such as:

    • Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Key Vault, Power BI, MSBI (SSIS/SSAS), SQL Server, and Oracle.

  • Implement solutions using big data tools like Spark, Hive, and Hadoop.

Advanced Analytics & Automation:

  • Support AI/ML data needs by building pipelines and features using Python and Azure tools.

  • Automate processes using Autosys, Airflow, and containerization technologies such as Docker or OpenShift.

  • Create, consume, and integrate APIs and web services for enriched data delivery.

Solution Design & Governance:

  • Participate in functional and technical design for data solutions, including creating re-usable components.

  • Implement data governance standards using tools like Databricks Unity Catalog.

  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.

Project & Collaboration:

  • Work on multiple concurrent projects in an Agile/DevOps environment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across enterprise settings.

  • Maintain clear documentation and deliver data engineering components that align with analytics strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in data engineering or related IT roles.

  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and tools such as Spark, Hive, Airflow, Python.

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystem (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake).

  • Hands-on knowledge of on-prem tools: SSIS, SSAS, Informatica, Oracle Golden Gate, SQL Server.

  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Agile development methodologies.

  • Experience developing and integrating APIs/web services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate certification.

  • Experience with data governance frameworks and tools.

  • Knowledge of the Utilities/Gas industry and its data practices.

  • Experience with JIRA and/or Azure DevOps for project management and tracking.
