In this role, you will be responsible for driving data engineering initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive data-driven decision-making and ensure the scalability, reliability and security of a large scale data platform

This position will report to Vice President, Strategy and Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain the overall architecture of the enterprise data landscape, ensuring high availability, robustness, and scalability.
  • Experience improving performance for legacy data pipelines, with an acute focus on process
  • Build and maintain integrations from 10+ source systems like Salesforce, Addepar, eMoney, Workday, etc.
  • Build normalization techniques for the ingested data and maintain a golden copy record
  • Establish data governance, data quality, and data management best practices with heavy focus on financial data.
  • Develop comprehensive enterprise-level metrics and reports on data performance, quality, and errors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategies for data acquisition, transformation, and modeling – including internal teams (finance, HR) and external facing teams in the wealth advisory space.
  • Architect and implement data warehousing solutions that facilitate business reporting and analytics.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, including data dictionaries, ERD diagrams, and flowcharts for data movement and transformations, and drive consistent processes for adhering to correct documentation.
  • Drive the development of the next generation Data Layer infrastructure that enables the data, reporting, and analytics needs of the firm in a robust, timely, accurate, and scalable way.
  • Own integration architecture between data sources and data layer, leveraging off the shelf tooling (e.g., DBT) as well as some custom coding in Azure.
  • Productize data deliverables for Reporting and Analytics consumption.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Distinguished academic track record in quantitative discipline
  • Minimum \4+ years of work experience in data engineering-related roles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analytics tooling (e.g., SQL, DBT, Python, Tableau, Excel)
  • Experience and knowledge with industry standard ELT & ELT tooling
  • Proficiency in programming, especially Python and SQL
  • Understanding of data modeling best practices, including Data Warehousing and Governance
  • Basic understanding of Cloud Engineering, especially Azure
  • Ability to implement CI/CD and follow other Change Management processes
  • Preferred - data engineering-related experience with Databricks, Salesforce, Addepar, and/or Workday
  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Continuous learning & adaptability to new technologies, following industry trends
  • High standards of ownership, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and consistency
  • Ability to write and refactor clean and high-quality code
  • Ability to triage and prioritize effectively and in alignment with business goals
  • Ability to lead projects end-to-end, in a structured way, and with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication, both orally and in writing

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.   • This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.
