About the Role
Booster is on the hunt for a Data Engineer with deep expertise in dbt to help power our data-driven future. Our Data team is the engine that fuels smarter decisions, sharper insights, and scalable growth across the company. We turn raw data into clear, actionable intelligence for executives, product teams, and operations—while keeping our infrastructure rock-solid and ready to scale.
We’ve built a modern ELT stack—Airflow, Fivetran, Segment, dbt, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, CircleCI, Git, Tableau, GCP, Terraform—and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to take ownership of it, improve it, and push it to the next level. You’ll partner with every part of the company, work with a wide variety of data sources, and help shape a next-generation, multi-tenant data environment that’s ready for the future.
What you'll do
- Apply a consistent, scalable data modeling philosophy that balances stakeholder needs, interpretability, and performance.
- Design and deliver the next evolution of our data warehouse—from roadmap creation to execution.
- Lead our migration toward a multi-tenant-ready architecture that supports a growing business.
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure every feature meets measurement and analytics standards.
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical feature requests.
- Build infrastructure and tooling to enable data analysts and data scientists to work beyond Tableau.
- Maintain, optimize, and expand the backend of our BI platform (Tableau).
- Develop robust testing, observability, and automation for a resilient data infrastructure.
- Write custom ETL scripts and automate workflows in Python.
- Deploy production-grade data science models.
What you'll bring
- Strong Python + SQL expertise.
- Proven dbt mastery with real-world experience.
- Solid understanding of data modeling philosophies and their trade-offs.
- Experience with multi-tenant data warehouse environments.
- Git proficiency for version control + collaboration.
- Comfort with CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment.
- Background in Airflow or Cloud Functions for orchestration.
- Experience migrating from Postgres to BigQuery, Snowflake, MotherDuck, or Databricks.
- Ability to deploy and maintain production-grade data science models.
- Experience with GCP or other cloud platforms.
- A collaborative mindset—you teach, you learn, and you help others grow.
- The judgment to make thoughtful recommendations that balance urgency, impact, and long-term success.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to move projects forward.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
Salary Range: $130,000 to $150,000 plus Booster Equity
