Job Description:
Premier Staffing Source, Inc. is seeking an experienced Statistical Assistant for a 2 year assignment with our client in New York, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide well-supported recommendations for the disposition of assigned rate filings.
· Participate in meetings at the request of the Department to discuss all aspects of the rate filing.
· Prepare and deliver a completed DFS indication spreadsheet and presentation spreadsheet.
· Develop an Internal Actuarial Memo that includes:
o Actuarial rate recommendations.
o A detailed description of the process used to evaluate the rate filing.
o Recommendations for the preparer of the subject rate filing.
o Assumptions and methods applied.
o Assessment of the reliability of underlying data sources.
o Relevant caveats related to the study.
o All written and electronic reports, along with supporting documentation for the recommended disposition.
· Verify the mathematical accuracy of calculations.
· Review insurance company rate filings for compliance with established standards.
· Maintain and update in-house databases.
· Assist with special projects and research as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree including 24 semester credit hours in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science
· Proficient in Microsoft 365, with hands-on experience using Excel, Teams, WebEx, and Zoom.
- Eligible to work in New York State; and
- One or more of the following:
o Three (3) or more years of experience performing rate studies in the Property Casualty Insurance industry and is a Fellow or Associate of the Casualty Actuary Society (CAS); or
o Passed at least four (4) CAS exams and has seven (7) or more years of experience in Property Casualty
o Insurance actuarial ratemaking.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $42.50 - $45.15 per hour
