Here is a bit more about this position. In the role, you will be working on a Work Force Management application team. The technology stack includes:
Java(8), Hibernate, Spring, Angular, AWS, CI/CD, Automation, Enterprise Product Development – WFM can be deployed in cloud or onPrem, this is a monolith application, not microservices, not cloud native. Most of the work will be backend, even though Angular is listed.
Although this platform is a legacy architecture, most of the development being done is primarily new feature development such as building out an AI Chatbot tool for manager interactions with the systems to pull reports, schedule and build employee trainings using gamification tools, etc.
The leadership team over this group is very excited about leveraging AI Development tools such as Github Copilot, etc.
Interview Tips:
The manager will be focusing on your development background and the things you have built and during this will be looking for any indication that you would not want to work in a more legacy/monolithic application architecture.
If they hear anything in your answers that leads them to believe you are primarily looking to work only in the latest architecture or microservices environments, they will pass on you.
They will ask you about your experience using AI Development tools like Github Copilot and for examples of things you have built using those tools. If you cannot speak to specific examples of what you have built using these types of tools or don’t sound excited about using those tools daily, they will pass on you. If you have not done a lot with AI development tools, I would suggest you spend several hours and at least build a Hello World type of application you can discuss and in the interview talk about how much you like using those tools and want to be at a company using them daily.
